ViticultureFrom Quinta da Vista Alegre, Cima Corgo, where few vineyards are more than 80 years old, planted on old platforms with predominant sun exposure to the south, and other vineyards, aged 25 years, on new platforms predominantly exposed to the east.
WinemakingHand picked and transported in small boxes with careful selection of grapes. Total destemming, fermentation with moderate temperature control in stainless steel tank with daily pumping over (remontage) and long post-fermentation maceration.
StageAged in new French oak barrels for 18 months. Wine not filtered or cold-stabilised so that all its components are respected.
ConsumptionWell-seasoned dishes, red meats, game, and strong cheeses. It should be served at a temperature between 14°C and 16°C. Wine with excellent ageing potential, can be consumed over the next 6-8 years.
conservationThe wine should be stored in a cool, dry place, protected from light and temperature fluctuations, and the bottle should remain horizontal. Since wine is a natural product it will create a deposit with age.

2016: ROBERT PARKER CLASSIFICATION (2022):
"...This is a step up over the Valle Longo Reserva. It´s not quite as smooth, but it´s richer in mouthfeel, more expressive and better structure d. While that is at peak and more likely to go down than up in the future , this might still improve a little. The rest is similar. That is, it is rather elegant and a little understated, beautifully balanced and fresh. This does nicely. It should hold throughout most of the decade."
